Unlocking LEADERSHIP Potential: The Power of Ontology!

Enrique A.

I transform struggling leaders by helping them develop, evolve, and find their way from sucKcess to success. Top 100 Thought Leader in Leadership & Global 100 Executive Coach of the Year. Multi-Award-Winning Podcaster🎙️

November 17, 2025

In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, leadership is no longer just about strategy and execution—it’s about who we are as leaders. In our latest episode, we sit down with Sharne Fairbrother, a Fractional Chief People Officer from New Zealand, who offers powerful insights on unlocking leadership potential through the lens of ontology—the study of being.

Here are the top five lessons you don’t want to miss:

1️⃣ Leadership Transformation Begins Within

Many organizations focus on an outside-in approach—tools, tactics, and performance. Sharne reminds us that real transformation starts internally. Understanding our inner world—our moods, beliefs, and identity—shapes every action we take as leaders. Ontology shines a light on this deeper layer, empowering leaders to show up with clarity and intention.

2️⃣ Vulnerability Is a Strength, Not a Weakness

A powerful takeaway: vulnerability builds trust. Leaders often fear that being open about challenges or uncertainties will make them appear weak. Yet Sharne explains that vulnerability fosters connection, psychological safety, and team cohesion. When leaders model openness, their teams feel permission to do the same.

3️⃣ Adaptability Is the New Leadership Currency

The world of work is shifting faster than ever. Sharne emphasizes that leaders must become comfortable with uncertainty and rely on their foundational ways of being—empathy, resilience, and accountability. These internal qualities help leaders navigate unexpected challenges with confidence and steadiness.

4️⃣ Alignment Drives Authentic Culture

True leadership requires congruence. Sharne highlights the importance of leaders embodying the values they preach. When actions reflect purpose, organizations cultivate a culture rooted in authenticity and trust. Alignment between who leaders say they are and how they behave unlocks stronger engagement and motivation across teams.

5️⃣ Ontology Creates a Common Language for Growth

Many leadership programs stack more tools onto overwhelmed leaders. Sharne suggests a different path: equip leaders with a shared ontological language. By encouraging self-exploration and honest reflection, organizations ignite more meaningful conversations and create space for deeper, transformational leadership development.

If you’re ready to elevate your leadership from the inside out, this episode is a must-listen. 🎙️ Discover how ontology can transform your impact, deepen team trust, and help you lead with authenticity and intention.

👉 Tune in now and take your next step toward becoming a more effective, grounded, and adaptive leader.

How to Stay Motivated When Life (and College) Gets Hard

Mary Kelly, Commander, USN, CSP, CPAE

Keynote Speaker and Corporate Advisor - Lead confidently through crises, challenges, and change| Former Navy Intel Officer| Author of You Next| Hall of Fame Speaker, Economist, Board member, Philanthropist, Podcaster

November 6, 2025

By Dr. Mary C. Kelly, Economist, Leadership Expert, and U.S. Navy Commander (Ret.)

A young man asked me recently, “How do you stay motivated to finish college, and even earn multiple degrees, when it gets really hard?”

It is a great question, because let us face it: college is hard. But so is life.

And the sooner you understand that hard does not mean impossible, the faster you will build the discipline that success requires.

I responded, “college isn’t just about earning a diploma, it’s about figuring out what you’re good at and learning how to turn that into a meaningful career or business.”  College is just another step in the process.

That does not stop after graduation. It applies to every stage of adulthood — work, family, finances, and all the big, messy, beautiful things that make life worth living.

College Is Practice for Real Life

College teaches you more than algebra or economics. It teaches you how to show up when you are tired, how to think when you are confused, and how to finish what you start.

That is preparation for everything that comes after — jobs, families, mortgages, deadlines, and all the grown-up responsibilities that do not come with a syllabus.

Because here is the truth: adulthood is full of homework, too.

You will have projects you do not like, people you disagree with, and obligations that do not inspire you. But just like college, you will have to find the reason that keeps you moving forward when it is tempting to quit.

Motivation Does not Come from a Feeling, It Comes from Decision

We often think motivation is a mood. It is not. It is a decision.

The most successful people, whether they are finishing a degree, building a business, or being a good spouse, do not wait until they feel motivated. They take action first, and the motivation follows.

Sometimes, all you need to do is take two steps in the right direction. That is it. Two steps.

Progress creates energy. Energy creates momentum. Momentum creates confidence.

And if, somewhere along the way, you realize you are going in the wrong direction? Then change direction.

Changing direction is not failure, it is adjustment. It is wisdom. It is learning from experience and using that insight to make better decisions next time.

So, take two steps forward, keep going, and when necessary, pivot. That is how you keep growing.

Finding Motivation as a Grown-Up

Let us be honest: life does not always feel inspiring. Sometimes you are just doing your best to keep everything from falling apart.

So how do you stay motivated when “adulting” feels like a full-time job?

Here is what I remind myself when things get tough or you just get tired.

1. Remember Why You Started

You did not go to college, start a business, or take that job just to quit halfway through. Revisit your “why.”

What problem are you trying to solve? What dream are you chasing? What happens if you keep going?

Write it down. Look at it every day. That is your internal compass when life feels, off course.

2. Focus on Progress, Not Perfection

Whether you are earning a degree, paying off debt, or getting healthier, success rarely happens in a straight line. Do not wait for perfect conditions. Just take the next right step. Two steps forward every day adds up fast.

3. Surround Yourself with People Who Get It

Motivation dies in isolation. Find people who push you, challenge you, and remind you that the struggle means you are still in the game.

4. Celebrate the Grown-Up Wins

You made dinner at home. You kept your temper in traffic. You got through the meeting without caffeine (is that even possible?) or conflict. Small wins are proof you are making progress, even when life does not hand out report cards anymore.

Life Gets Harder and You Get Stronger

As you move from high school to college to career, the challenges do not disappear, they evolve.

Deadlines become projects. Tests become clients. Grades become performance reviews. Expectations only grow.

But so does your ability to handle them.

You learn to prioritize, plan, and persevere. You get better at recognizing when you are off track and stronger at course-correcting.

That is not failure; that’s maturity.

The Bottom Line

Motivation is not a spark that appears when life feels easy. It is the quiet determination to take two steps in the right direction — every day — even when you do not feel like it.

Eat the apple instead of the chips. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Finish the report before you leave for the day.

College helps you discover at what you are good. Adulthood helps you apply it with purpose.

So, keep going. Keep learning. Keep doing the work even when it is not glamorous.

That is real motivation. That is real success.

Happy Veterans Day

A special message from CEO John P. Hiltz

As we observe this Veterans Day, we pause to honor the men and women whose courage, service, and sacrifice have protected the freedoms we cherish. Their devotion to duty and country, spanning generations, conflicts, and continents, reminds us that peace is never given but earned through courage and preserved through remembrance.

This past September, our community gathered on Ford Island, where World War II began and where the bullet-scarred windows of Hangar 79 still bear witness to that fateful day, to commemorate its historic end eighty years later. Presented by the Bob & Dolores Hope Foundation, the 80th Commemoration of the End of World War II brought together veterans, families, and visitors for a weekend of events to honor service and sacrifice.

As America’s WWII Aviation Battlefield, our Museum stands as a living tribute to those who served. Across our campus, historic aircraft tell the stories of courage, innovation, and perseverance —from the P-40 Warhawk and B-25 Mitchell that fought for victory in WWII, through the Cold War and Vietnam eras, to the age of modern flight represented by our Blue Angels F/A-18 Hornet. Each aircraft represents a moment in time and the veterans who shaped it, reminding us that every generation has answered the call to defend freedom.

Today, November 11th, known around the world as Armistice Day, we commemorate the end of World War I, the conflict that first inspired the hope for lasting peace. One of our Museum volunteers, John Vidal, is helping us honor this day in a special way. Dressed in a uniform representative of the Great War, John will be in Hangar 37, hand-punching historically styled dog tags and sharing rare photographs, archives, and artifacts that bring this history to life. Alongside his presentation, our team has curated a special display featuring objects that showcase American actions in World War I and the arrival of the U.S. Army service on Ford Island in 1918, honoring those whose service helped shape the world that followed.

At Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, we believe remembrance is more than reflection—it is action. Through our exhibits, hangars, educational programs, and restoration efforts, we preserve the stories of those who served and share their lessons with new generations. We are a beacon of remembrance and learning, anchored by the historic Ford Island Control Tower, whose red-and-white silhouette rises above Pearl Harbor as a symbol of resilience, hope, and the enduring spirit of those who came before us.

As we reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who have served, we draw strength from their example and gratitude for their service. To all veterans, past and present, thank you. Your dedication, resilience, and love of country continue to guide and inspire us each day as we honor the past and inspire the future.

Happy Veterans Day.

Waimānalo-based homeless community program Hui Mahi‘ai ‘Āina, run by Aunty Blanche McMillan, is expanding with help from the aio Foundation, which will lead the development of the project's next phase.

When I learned about the work and saw first-hand the work Aunty Blanche was doing at Hui Mahi‘ai ‘Āina, I knew this was something special that I wanted to support,” said Duane Kurisu, chairman of aio and aio Foundation, in a statement. “… Aunty Blanche has been a critical resource for the homeless by providing them shelter, a community, and a place to call home.”

With support from the state and City and County of Honolulu, the organizations plan to complete 31 new structures, including 24 village-style homes for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, by 2026.

The overall goal for this initial three-acre development on state-owned land is to serve 188 residents with homes, communal and outdoor spaces and essential facilities. The remaining 11 acres “will be used for agricultural purposes to build income-producing capacity for the sustenance of the Village,” according to developers.

We are so grateful to the amazing partners and donors who are supporting this expansion and saw our vision,” said McMillan in a statement. “Through aloha, faith and laulima, we are creating a place where people can heal, grow, and find hope again. This is what community looks like when we stand together.”

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, McMillan spearheaded the construction of nine tiny homes and two family homes at Hui Mahi‘ai ‘Āina for those who were displaced then from Waimānalo Beach Park.

Winners’ Camp

For 40 years, Winners’ Camp has helped Hawaiʻi’s teens discover who they are, what they’re capable of and how to lead with ALOHA. Many families want this life-changing week for their teen and scholarships are what make it possible.

A Family’s Story of Transformation

Jolie Yu, Parent

“Our son was a typical teenager full of attitude not too interested in his family and lacking responsibility. When he came home after the seven-day camp he was exhausted but something had shifted… he started showing real care wouldn’t go to bed without saying ‘I love you Mom’ and took on the role of making sure our family was eating well getting enough sleep and staying active.

He also told us he had realized how fortunate he was to have a loving family something he hadn’t fully appreciated before… and to our amazement this wasn’t just a short-lived phase. His grades improved from As Bs and Cs to straight As the following school year.

He returned to the camp multiple times, first as a graduate and later as a leader where he learned leadership skills and habits that have stuck with him. After witnessing such a transformation in him we sent our daughter to the camp as well and we’ve watched her blossom in the same wonderful way.

The long-lasting emotional and mental growth we’ve seen in our kids is worth so much."

Raymond, in yellow, with his team this summer.

A Leader’s Perspective

    Raymond Yu, Team Leader

“Winners' Camp is an experience that I'll hold dearly to my heart as a camper and as a leader. Campers go up the mountain to camp as children of divorced parents, foster kids, victims of abuse or just teens who do not yet know where their values lie. However they come down that mountain changed and evolved.

When I met one of my campers, I knew he would be my greatest challenge. As an autistic teen with ADHD he saw the world in a different light… the kid was extremely antisocial and was especially afraid of trusting others. On day one he would not participate in the majority of the activities and tended to stray away from our team. My ability to translate my empathy into words was lacking and I really had to work on my relatability. He was my kryptonite.

I sat with him every time he would leave for the dorms. Through the spoken words and the unspoken, he found trust in me and after consistent encouragement he began to place trust in his fellow campers as well. On the last night of Camp we held a camp activity I organized that he absolutely tackled where each camp member gave him a hug of devotion. he came down the mountain as a loving trusting individual.

That is what Winners' Camp did for me and that is why it was necessary for me to muster the courage to be a strong Team Leader for the next group of teens coming up the mountain. When I learned I would be a Team Leader I was enthused but at the same time terrified and I had limited confidence in the potential that I may be a good TL. Meeting him gave me the opportunity to develop the trust in myself to be a good TL… through the balancing act of meeting his needs and supporting my Team through challenges I became resilient to the unexpected obstacles of life and to my own failures.”

Raymond's Camper & Jeannette

(He's come back to camp three times & all our Super Saturdays!)

Remembering Raven

Our Winners’ Camp ʻohana includes many young leaders whose energy and kindness shaped this ridge and one whose light continues to shine is Raven Mollison. Her grandparents recently sent a heartfelt gift in her memory along with a story that captures who she was.

Raven was small in stature but big in heart. She loved people and she loved to laugh. Her grandparents recalled a moment when she went to greet new campers who were twice her size. Wanting to help, she asked what she could do to make them feel welcome. When a young camper suggested she carry his large suitcase, Raven looked at the luggage, looked back at him, shrugged her shoulders and said “Okay!” Then she moved forward and carried it with all the determination she was known for.

Her grandparents shared that she loved participating in Winners’ Camp and cared deeply for everyone connected to this work. Their gift honors the joy she brought to her family and the impact she had on the campers and leaders around her. We hold her ʻohana in our hearts with gratitude, and her spirit continues in every teen who finds courage, kindness and confidence on the ridge.

Mahalo to our supporters. Your generosity is already helping us build a stronger future for Hawai‘i’s youth. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has helped launch the $40K for 40 Years campaign. Your early gifts are fueling scholarships, programs and the improvements that keep our ridge a place where teens can grow and thrive.

Cancer to Capricorn: A Maritime Showdown for the Global South

On Sept. 2, the United States really stepped up its decades-long war on drugs by sinking a boat in international waters filled with narcotics, killing 11 members of the Tren de Aragua gang. This attack, which the current administration has been hinting at for a while, opens a chance for a fresh look at how America approaches Latin America and Africa and rolling back China’s dangerous march across the region.

USS Tucson (SSN 779) Day

On 9 September 1995, USS Tucson was commissioned and joined the fleet as the 59th Los

Angeles class submarine. Sunday, September 9th , the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum, in

partnership with the Honolulu Navy League, was honored to host the USS Tucson (SSN 779)

families to celebrate the submarine’s birthday while the boat and crew were deployed in the

Western Pacific. We wish Tucson mission success and look forward to welcoming them home at the end of their deployment.

At the time, the Los Angeles class was envisioned with a service life of roughly 30 years,

balancing the rapid pace of technological development with the expected durability of nuclear

propulsion and submarine hull construction. While this planned lifespan guided the Navy’s force-structure assumptions, many of the 62 Los Angeles class boats ultimately exceeded it through refits and life-extension programs, with 23 still in service today. With the USS Iowa (SSN 797) being commissioned last April, there are now 24 Virginia class submarines in service, and represent a majority of the U.S. Submarine Force.

USS Michael Murphy Ship Tour

Navy League Jane and members of the Honolulu Council of the Navy League pose together in front of USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) after taking a tour aboard the ship, Sept. 6, 2025. The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer hosted the tour as part of the Navy Region Hawaii and Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific shipboard tour program, which provides local civic and school groups the opportunity to visit U.S. Navy ships and learn about the important role these ships conduct to maintain readiness and ensure national security in the Indo-Pacific region.

We Remember September 11, 2025

On September 11, 2025, the Honolulu Council was honored to attend the 24th Anniversary

Remembrance Ceremony in honor of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The solemn service took place at the Pearl Harbor Memorial Fountain on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, a fitting location that symbolizes resilience, sacrifice, and remembrance.

The ceremony, hosted by Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific, brought together service

members, civilians, and families from across our community. Attendees gathered to reflect on

the events of that tragic day, to honor the memory of the nearly 3,000 lives lost, and to

recognize the continued sacrifices of the men and women who have served in the years since.

The Navy League provided chairs and flags for the event.

Radford High School Military Youth Advisory Council

On September 12, 2025, the Honolulu Navy League attended the Radford Complex monthly Military Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) meeting at Admiral Arthur J. Radford High School. Together with Principal James Sunday, the MYAC serves as a long-standing partnership between the school, representatives from the military base commands, school liaison officers, family service representatives, community business partners and leaders, parents, students, and Radford Complex leadership.

Through these meetings, the goal is to increase members' awareness of Radford High School

and the complex schools' programs supporting the more than 70% military youth attending schools in the Radford Complex.

Navy Chief Navy Pride

On September 16, 2025, the Honolulu Council had the pleasure of watching the newest Navy

Chiefs at their pinning ceremonies. Honolulu Navy League supported these pinning’s in so

many different ways. While the new chiefs were enduring their final night before pinning, we

were lending our chairs and flags as others from the various commands were getting ready for the big day. The Honolulu Council celebrated with the Chief Selects and attended the U.S.

Pacific Fleet, the Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific and Submarine Pacific Fleet, chief

pinning’s. We were so proud to have been supporting a day so full of Navy Pride.

On September 18, 2025, the Honolulu Navy League attended the Change of Command for the USS Mississippi (SSN 782). Cmdr. Alex Rinaldi, incoming commanding officer of Virginia-class fast-attack submarine USS Mississippi (SSN 782), right, saluted Cmdr. Jeffrey Bernhardt, outgoing commanding officer of Mississippi. Left. USS Mississippi is assigned to Submarine Squadron 1 and is capable of supporting various missions, including anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface ship warfare, strike warfare, special operations forces support, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency hosted the National POW/MIA Recognition

Day ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, on

September 19, 2025.

Established in 1979 by presidential proclamation signed by President Jimmy Carter, the

day honors former prisoners of war and those missing in action from past and current

conflicts.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day serves as a powerful reminder of the nation’s commitment to those who gave everything and to the families who still wait for answers.

Through ceremonies such as this, and through the ongoing mission of DPAA, the United

States reaffirms its pledge to never forget those who have not yet returned and to honor

their legacy for generations to come.

NavyLeagueJane was proud to escort Capt. Jim Hickerson, USN, Retired and his wife

Carole at Punchbowl. Jim is the last surviving POW in Hawaii, and in February we will

celebrate his 53rd year of being released during Operation Freedom. Major Steve Hansen,

US Marine, deceased, Carole’s first husband, is the profile on the MIA POW flag. Jim proudly rang the Liberty Bell that was flown into Punchbowl for this event.

The Honolulu Council was proud to lay a wreath at the memorial that day.

American Patriot Awards 2025

September 20, 2025, the Honolulu Navy League proudly hosted their annual American Patriot Awards Dinner, honoring two remarkable examples of service and leadership: Retired Admiral Peter Gumataotao and the Loui Family.

The Loui Family has been a longstanding supporter of our community—creating jobs that strengthen Hawai‘i locally while also providing critical support to our military fleet across the Indo-Pacific. Admiral Gumataotao’s distinguished service reflects the highest traditions of leadership and commitment to our nation. Together, they embody the very spirit of patriotism we seek to celebrate. Our own Jane Ferreira was also honored as an American Patriot for the commitment and service that she has provided to the sea service commands, service members and families, and to the greater Honolulu community over the past two decades.

Mahalo to our community partners, sponsors, and volunteers who made this unforgettable evening possible. Your support not only created a night of fellowship and inspiration, but also strengthens our mission to advocate, educate, and support our sea services here in Hawai‘i and beyond.

Kalani High School Coast Guard JROTC Visit

September 26, the Honolulu Navy League was proud to spend the afternoon with the Kalani High School Coast Guard Junior ROTC—one of only 10 Coast Guard JROTC units nationwide and the newest JROTC unit we support. Though their unit is only two years old, they have worked diligently to build the program to be an incredible JROTC leadership team!

We joined in and watched as the cadets practiced marching in formation, learning how to conduct a pass and review, presenting their newest awards and promotions. After drill practice we topped off the afternoon by providing pizza and refreshments for the cadets and their families! Bravo Zulu Kalani High School!! These cadets are indeed Semper Paratus!!

USS Carl M Levin (DDG 120)

A big thank you to the crew of the USS Carl Levin (DDG 120) and to Navy Region Hawaii

Public Affairs for giving us the opportunity to tour the ship. We had a fantastic group join

us—many from our community partner, Bank of Hawaii—and spent about two hours

exploring the ship and asking lots of great questions!

We’re always grateful for opportunities like this to connect the military with our broader

community, helping bridge gaps and build lasting partnerships. More ship tours are

coming soon, so if you’d like to join us, we’d love to hear from you!

USAA and Navy League Honolulu Partnership

USAA and the Honolulu Navy League partnered to provide  "Welcome Aboard"  funding to the University of Hawaii Navy, Army and Air Force ROTC Units! Captain Paul Bandinil gratefully received the checks for the programs.

We are thrilled to welcome tomorrow's leaders back to school!!

Sea Cadets

R. D. Stethem Battalion and Battleship Missouri Divisions,

At the drill on 27 September 2025, Cadets toured the USS Decatur (DDG 73), an Aegis Class US Navy Destroyer. The crew of the Decatur led our cadets all throughout various parts of the ship and taught our cadets about the various advanced systems and what life is like on board us U.S. Navy warship. Cadets even got treated to a few snacks in their crew’s mess and some refreshing water produced by their advanced reverse osmosis water purification systems.

Sea Cadets is the Navy League's youth development program. The program develops knowledge, skills, and confidence through an amazing variety of training opportunities in a

disciplined environment. Cadets adhere to the core values of honor, respect, commitment,

and service.

  HONORING THE SEA SERVICES

Help Ensure Deserving Personnel Are Recognized

The Navy League’s Annual Professional Excellence Awards program honors the men and women who exemplify the highest standards of leadership, professionalism, and service across the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and U.S.-Flag Merchant Marine. Nominations are submitted by commanding officers and sea service leadership, with recipients recognized at the Navy League’s annual National Convention each June.

We’re calling on our members and councils to help ensure the right leaders receive recognition. Due to delays caused by the recent government shutdown, we need your help getting the word out to sea service leaders. Please share this list of Annual Professional Excellence Awards and this nomination form with your local sea service leadership and commands as soon as possible. Commanding officers are eligible to submit nominations for specific awards, including all three civilian awardsform with.

Your outreach ensures deserving personnel don’t miss this opportunity for recognition. Thank you us upholding the Navy League’s mission of honoring excellence across the sea services.

America Should Stick to its Guns on Port Fees for Chinese Ships

If you received this message as a forward from someone else, subscribe here

The U.S. Trade Representative’s (USTR) praiseworthy action across both sides of the political transition to investigate and then impose port fees on ships built, owned, and operated by the People’s Republic of China has marked a vital initial step towards pushing back on China’s decades-long drive to dominate the global maritime transportation system, which has come at the direct expense of American workers, industry, and seapower.

THE COVERT CODE PODCAST

ON THIS WEEK’S EPISODE

What if your biggest retirement obstacle isn't numbers—but emotions? In this episode of The Covert Code Podcast, I sit down with Mary Clements Evans, Forbes Books author of "Emotionally Invested: Outsmart Fearless Retirement" and founder of Evan's Wealth Strategies.

Meet Mary Clements Evans

Mary Clements Evans is a financial advisor, entrepreneur, and thought leader in behavioral finance. At age 52, she founded Evans Wealth Strategies, building it from the ground up into a nationally recognized firm. Her expertise has led to speaking engagements at major conferences and the publication of her first book with Forbes Books.

Mary’s passion for behavioral finance comes from years of sitting across from clients facing tough financial decisions—decisions often driven by fear and uncertainty rather than logic. She has witnessed firsthand how emotions shape financial choices and understands that true financial well-being isn’t just about numbers—it’s about confidence and peace of mind. Inspired by personal and professional experiences, she wrote Emotionally Invested to help readers navigate these challenges and take control of their financial future.

Outside of work, Mary enjoys spending time with her husband, Paul, at their vacation home in Myrtle Beach. A devoted foodie and avid traveler, she firmly believes that the best conversations happen over a chocolate martini.

Through Emotionally Invested, Mary’s mission is clear: to change the way people think about money, empowering them to make better financial decisions and live with greater financial confidence.

NOVEMBER 19, 2025

Aloha members,

We were proud to host this year’s Innovation Crawl last week alongside our partners at HTDC, giving legislators a firsthand look at the pioneering work happening within Hawaii’s innovation ecosystem. Seeing these operations up close — from advanced research and defense engineering to large-scale local manufacturing — underscores the vital role innovation plays in diversifying and strengthening our economy.

From advanced research and technology commercialization to defense engineering and local manufacturing, each stop highlighted the remarkable potential of Hawaii-grown innovation and the importance of thoughtful policy in helping it flourish.

A sincere mahalo to our partners at HTDC and to the teams at PICHTRNorth Star Scientific, and Pacific Allied Products for opening their doors and sharing the real-world challenges and opportunities shaping their industries.

We look forward to continuing this collaborative work to strengthen Hawaii’s economy, expand opportunities for local talent, and support the companies moving our state forward.

Please note that the Chamber office will be closed for the holidays from Monday, November 24, to Friday, November 28, as well as Thursday, December 25, to Thursday, January 1, 2026.
